Indeed, by one metric (disapproval rating) he is historically unpopular (via CNN): Poll: Bush most unpopular in modern history
A new poll suggests that George W. Bush is the most unpopular president in modern American history.
A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Thursday indicates that 71 percent of the American public disapprove of how Bush his handling his job as president.
“No president has ever had a higher disapproval rating in any CNN or Gallup poll; in fact, this is the first time that any president’s disapproval rating has cracked the 70 percent mark,” said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.
“Bush’s approval rating, which stands at 28 percent in our new poll, remains better than the all-time lows set by Harry Truman and Richard Nixon (22 percent and 24 percent, respectively) but even those two presidents never got a disapproval rating in the 70s,” Holland added. “The previous all-time record in CNN or Gallup polling was set by Truman, 66 percent disapproval in January 1952.”
Well, I guess it means he has something to strive for between now and next January.

“No president has ever had a higher disapproval rating in any CNN or Gallup poll” is a correct statement, but I would like to know when Gallup started polling disapproval ratings. Obviously a lot of Presidents pre-date Gallup.

I actually think that Gallup was at the beginning of such polling–but granted, there were a number of presidents in the pre-polling era.

I think you can ask a question in such a way that you can dictate the result. You who are in the polling buisness are good at that. And to have a foreclosier pic with your story is all too telling.
The percentage of foreclosiers are miniscule compared to the people who are paying there mortgages.
You know, when you agree to a contract it is your responsibility to live up to it. It is not the responsibility of others to pay for others mistakes. If I have a choice to help someone that’s my choice. But to have someone chose for me is wrong.
Your poling means nothing to me.

You want proof that these dipshits running for office and all of the people in congress only care about themselves? I am posting this video everywhere that shows the truth, not as I see it your see it, just the truth, of course you can ignore it, but it won’t go away if you close your eyes. I want you to keep an open mind put aside all the bullshit these people are shoveling and watch this movie from start to end and you be the judge.

So desperate to perpetuate your support for the most disastrous presidnt in modern times.
A man with such an utterly flawed grasp of reality and responsibility.
To think that Clinton was impeached for an affair, while Bush’s widespread bungling has rated nary a peep from the GOP faithful only proves those who put party before country are no patriots indeed.
1-20-09 can’t come soon enough.

re: CNN Polls.
I find it incredible that in a world where the left is so skeptical of media that they let themselves be yanked around by the nose.
One thing we should most definitely IGNORE are polls done by news media of their audience. It is self fulfilling. CNN spends every day telling everyone how bad things are.. jumping from one conclusion to another.. and then they ask their audience what the state of things are and then THAT is ‘news’ .
I had a friend once who had a puppy that used to eat his poop. I told him it was great because he only needed one can of food forever.
Same thing.
