Via Reuters: Eighteen dead in suicide attack in Iraq’s Kirkuk
A suicide bomber killed at least 18 people and wounded 53 at a crowded market in the northern Iraqi oil city of Kirkuk on Tuesday, police said.The bomber walked up to people shopping at the market in the center of the ethnically mixed city leaving a scene of devastation, with blood pooled on the street.
I know that it is hardly an original observation, but I continue to be amazed by this kind of activity. It is so pointless. It ultimately neither forwards any kind of contructive political outcome nor does it benefit (to put it mildly) the perpetrator. It is truly madness.
