As you can see, such a request will, almost certainly, be honored, and honored with lots o’ words. Keep in mind, the response below is an example of a professor answering said question in a hurry. Image the number of words if he had had more time…
So remember: be careful when you ask a professor what he/she thinks, as you are apt to get a lengthy answer.

Not at all (I was actually trying to be humorous–but may well have failed in the attempt). I thought it was funny that a simple question led to such a lengthy response.
Indeed, don’t you think it can be dangerous to ask a professor what he/she thinks about something?
