Via Reuters: Mugabe praised as Zambia elects new president

Zambian opposition leader Michael Sata praised the policies of Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe on Thursday as he voted in a close poll which could see him triumph over the man credited with turning Zambia’s economy around.

Egads. Pity the people of Zambia if the guy who is about to win the presidency thinks that Robert Mugabe represents a model worthy of emulation.

Mugabe’s tenure as President dictator of Zimbabwe counts as one of the unmitigated disasters in global governance of recent decades.

    1. Perhaps he is looking forward to “turning the economy around” yet again. If he emulates those policies for Zambia, he definitely will.

    2. Sata is probably also a fan of George Bush, who like Mugabe, is a torturer and with whom Sata shares an eerily similar campaign ideals in the form of his “patriotic front for low taxes.”

    3. I see we have a new version of “7 degrees of separation” where we see how quickly we can fit in Bush.

      “The latest cancer studies-”
“Yes, Bush’s policy spreads like a cancer on the land, a Nazi cancer.”

“The gas emissions policy fromthe EPA-”
“Not nearly as noxious emissions as spewed by HaliBushton and his cronies, who gutted the EPA in their haste to eat babies.”

Not every comment on every thread has to showcase your righteous indignation about Bush, ‘kay?
