James Joyner reports on an attempt to rename a street in DC after President Reagan (the WaPo story is here).

As a great admirer of President Reagan, may I say: enough already with naming stuff in DC after him, for crying out loud. He already has a massive building which houses bureaucrats named after him (perhaps the worst tribute ever given a former president) and the airport. Plus, he’s had a postage stamp (as should most presidents) and an aircraft carrier (a fitting tribute)–and, no doubt, numerous streets, schools and whatnot named after him across the country.

There is no need to rename a DC street after him. Heck, when I was in DC in May there was construction aplenty on the highways–if Representative Bonilla really has to name something after Reagan (and again, enough already) then pick something new, not something already established.
