Bryan S. comments on Land’s bizare formulation (” And if someone is disloyal, if someone betrays a trust, in Texas, they’re right down there with child molesters and ax murderers.”) and notes
The statement about disloyalty is just bizarre. Equating someone who changes their opinion with child molesters and axe murderers is not something I’m willing to do - and I’m from Texas, too.
I have noted the quote a couple of times, but have not directly addressed it. Let me say that as a Texan, I haven’t the foggiest idea what Land is talking about.
And let me reiterate something I have at least dealt with at the margins: since when is loyalty to a given President a characteristic that we have sought out in Supreme Court Justices? I find that notion to be problematic from a constitutional perspective and downright creepy from a personal one.

Sheesh.
Anyone whose watched Firefly knows it’s “Child molesters and people who talk in the theater.”
