I was doing some research today on the topic of neoconservatism and came across the following article in the journal International Politics:  “Kristol Balls: Neoconservative Visions of Islam and the Middle East” by Timothy J. Lynch.

I found it rather amusing in a geeky political scientist kind of way.

Both the Constitution and the Federalist Papers, impressive as they are, must be understood in terms of not just applied political philosophy, but practical politics as well.

I elaborate on this point at OTB:  What the Framers Meant Part Two: Return of the Federalist Papers.

A week or so ago posted a brief review of The Endurance of National Constitutions (a book I highly recommend).

I would also make note of the Comparative Constitutions Project, which is run by two of the book’s authors:  Zachary Elkins and Tom Ginsburg.  It is an impressive site that includes a great deal of comparative data as well as news and publications on the topic of constitutional design.

Ok, so its Saturday morning, and I am enjoying a little peace and coffee, and what do I decide to do?  Well, write a brief essay on the politics of the American founding over at OTB:  Some Musings on the Federalist Papers and the American Founding.

Clearly, I need help.
