Via the WSJ: Bush Approval Ratings Slip

President Bush’s approval ratings, as tracked by Harris Interactive, fell to the second-lowest of his presidency, according to a new poll.

According to the telephone poll, conducted between Nov. 17 and Nov. 21, 31% of U.S. adults called Mr. Bush’s job performance “excellent” or “good” — down from 34% who gave a positive assessment in a late-October poll; 67% said his performance is only “fair” or “poor,” up from 63% in the previous survey. The president’s lowest approval rating in a Harris poll was 29% in May 2024.

No shock, really. One guesses that barring some radical new event or substantial improvement in Iraq that the numbers will continue to reside in the bottom 30s. Indeed, they could go lower if hardcore supporters start to get frustrated.

    2. You right, Bush’s number will continue to say low.
The Bush administrations miscalculations and indequate planning for the post-invasion occupation as caused his numbers to say low. He also screwed up big time with Katrina. The stupid Bush Administration is now debating what to call the war in Iraq. The majority of American see what going on and wonder out loud what is wrong with this guy? While a majority of retired generals, analysts, and pundits (I’m not sure about Poliblogger) are terming it a ‘civil war,’ the Bush administration insists on debating definitions.

The Bush adminstration is in a “State of Denial.” The majority of Iraqi’s don’t want us there and want to kill any American they can. It’s not Cut and Run.I call it “cover our as_” and get out of Hell’s Kitchen. America was stupid to go in, we are stupid to stay. It’s time to bring our men and women home. They have battled without a battle plan.

    5. Keep it going bush. I’m rooting for you while you try to break the record for all time worst presidential approval rating. What’s really shocking is that there are still people who support him! I would not be surprised if Bush does break the record, the way it’s looking now a drop in approval is in the distance.
