. . . about the Pennsylvania man trying to sell bombs to Al Qaida. CNN Link

Grecula negotiated with the source and later with undercover officers between April and last Friday to build and sell a bomb to terrorist groups targeting the United States, according to court documents.

The FBI recorded conversations with Grecula, in which he talked about technical knowledge about building an explosive device, his willingness to put on a demonstration, and the need for all involved to “be careful” as they planned the venture, Shelby said.

They say he can only get up to 15 years and a fine. As he only spoke with undercover operatives, it may be impossible to get a charge for conspiracy to commit (multiple) murder, but fifteen years sounds a bit light for preparing to build bombs and handing them over to a terrorist organization with the intent that cities are destroyed and up to thousands killed.

Little information has come out on the motive. Money is always the front-runner in this type of guessing game, but I guess we’ll see.
