African American Political Pundit dubs me such:
Even right wing nut poliblogger.com…
*Sigh* Do people actually read what I write? My crime, apparently, was calling Bush’s Rumsfeld lie earlier in the week a “white” one–because I think that that it is what it was. I said that because of the kinds of lies that could be told, this one, while obvious, wasn’t exactly a major whopper that caused great harm to anyone (except, maybe, the President’s own party).
(And a note to Mr. APP: I am not angry about the election results, and there is nothing I have written that could be construed as reflecting such an attitude. My response to the Bush move was one of incredulity, not anger).
The real irony is that I have taken some grief over at OTB for my criticism of Rush Limbaugh and Hugh Hewitt and my concerns about knee-jerk partisanship.
At least Babara O’Brien of Mahablog said this week or so ago:
Dr. Steven Taylor of PoliBlog — conservative but not crazy
Perhaps that ought to be my new tagline…
Well, at least someone is paying attention.
“conservative but not crazy” . . . I like it.

And for intellectually thoughtful and consistent liberal bloggers, how about “Liberal but not looney”?

When Deb doesn’t have an opinion, she checks over here to see what to make of something. She always gets excited when she channels you, or vice-versa, like the other day when you used exactly the same word as her to describe something. It may have involved Rummy.
I do like that tagline, especially after the point - what, a year and a half ago? - when the crazy conservatives came out of the closet completely and made the sane conservatives, libertarians, and libertarian leaners wonder WTF they were doing throwing so much support to the same party or politicians in power therein.
We rely on you to be the rational voice, even when everyone else seems to be losing it. With great reasoning comes great respectability, to paraphrase Uncle ben.

Ok. “Star Trek nut” I would buy.

Jay,
Thanks for the comment–it is the kind of thing that can make my day.
And tell Deb thanks as well.

What is that line?
You are a moderate when you are hated by both sides equally.

Wow…that site is pretty racist. Star Trek nut, definately; right-wing nut, no.
I have to confess that I was more drawn to the fact that this “pundit” felt the need to further clarify what race he/she is by terming his/her blog as “African American (Black) Political Pundit.” Every time I see or hear of someone from my ethnic group do or say something that leads me to cringe, I feel this automatic need to apologize on behalf of the rest of us.
