Via the AP: Court to Consider Schiavo Emergency Bid

The order issued Tuesday allowed Bob and Mary Schindler to file the appeal, even though the court had set a March 26 deadline for doing so.

Its one-sentence order said: “The Appellant’s emergency motion for leave to file out of time is granted.” Three times last week, the court ruled against the Schindlers.

If I read this correctly, all the court has done is grant them to right to file another appeal. Beyond that, the status quo remain in place. This is almost cruel, as Terri could easily expire before the process is done, and further the odds are awfully good that the Court will do nothing different from what it has been doing, which is allowing the tube to remain out.
